Corrosion is the enemy of structures. As the name suggests the TMT bars that can evade corrosion are called so. The corrosion resistant TMT bars are made up of a layer of epoxy coating to make them resistant to corrosion. The epoxy coating in the bars acts as a protective layer to anything that may cause the bars to erode. Usually, they bring air, water and some kinds of salts. When the building surfaces come in contact with the moisture or humidity it starts to corrode the surface then slowly reaches the TMT bars if these bars are made up of corrosion resistant TMT bars, the steels hold everything together without giving in. In the case of normal reinforcement, the bar corrodes and building begins to splay.
